Teacher Highlight :: Jen Huber

Jennifer Huber

What lead you to yoga?

I went to my first yoga class because I’d reached a strength plateau as a runner. I stepped into a Baptiste power vinyasa class and quickly realized yoga wasn’t a pretend exercise for skinny chicks (like I’d thought). My repeated exposure to “yoga mat introspection time” enabled me to think clearly and define my future.

What's your philosophy on teaching?

Bringing simple truths to the practice of linking movement with breath leads to physical strength and mental clarity.

What is your personal practice like?

Studying the teaching styles of my yogi mentors through their audio classes, as well as working through my own practice on the mat with a personal paced flow.

Books you recommend?

Amy Cuddy's "Presence", anything by Brené Brown, and "10% Happier" by Dan Harris.

Who are your role models?

Every single teacher I've had at Breath and Body Yoga in Austin, TX.

What do you want new students to know?

You are enough. You are loved. You are powerful.

Anything else?

Join me in this adventure on the mat and notice where it leads you when you are off your mat!
